Our Pups Sensory Play set brings that experience home, inviting your child to scoop, pour, sort and search through soft, satisfying rice while uncovering playful puppy-themed figurines and treasures hidden within.
Choose your colour and watch as an ordinary afternoon becomes an open-ended adventure. There's no instruction sheet and no "right" way to play your child might sort the trinkets by size, bury and rediscover the figurines, or simply enjoy the sensory feel of rice running through their fingers. It's calm, hands-on play that follows their lead, not yours.
As with all of our Pour and Play Sensory Sets, this one was put together with an occupational therapist's eye for what makes sensory play genuinely valuable not just entertaining. It's a lovely stand-alone gift, a welcome addition to a sensory bin rotation, or a wonderful pick for any little one who loves dogs and hands-on discovery.

3. What the OT Says:
Sensory play like this is never just about fun it's foundational. When a child scoops, pours, sorts and transfers rice with their hands or a tool, they're building the hand strength, grip patterns and bilateral coordination that later support handwriting, cutting and everyday self-care tasks.
The puppy figurines and trinkets add a layer of purpose to the sensory input. Searching for and retrieving small items works on visual scanning and sustained attention, while grasping and lifting each piece especially with the fine motor tool targets the pincer and tripod grasp that underpins pencil control down the line. Sorting or grouping the trinkets by size, colour or type also builds early categorisation skills, a foundation for later mathematical and pre-academic thinking.
I also love how sets like this support language and imaginative play. A puppy theme naturally invites storytelling children narrate what their "pup" is doing, ask questions, and build vocabulary through play that never feels like a lesson. And the repetitive, predictable motion of pouring and scooping rice can be genuinely calming, offering a sense of focus and control that's especially valuable during busy or transitional moments of the day.

I bought this ice cream counter for my granddaughter's 2nd birthday. She and her 5 year old sister absolutely LOVE playing with this. Their mother's reaction was 'WHAT a hit!' The younger one loves to stack and place, the colourful and sturdy pieces, in out of the slots of the counter and this will develop into proper pretend play as she gets older. I can see both girls playing with their ice cream counter for years to come as it will have a long shelf life due to both the quality of the parts and the play interest for a broad age group of children.

I bought this outdoor easel for my son, and it has been an amazing addition to our garden playtime. The quality is excellent, and it's sturdy enough to withstand active play outdoors. My son loves spending hours drawing, painting, and using his imagination.

I absolutely love this puzzle, and have purched multiple ones as gifts. It is well crafted, and the wood is neatly rounded off. I'll be honest I've never played the game guidlines included, and rather use it as a catalyst in my creative processes. I love the fact that there are no rules to this, and the opportunity to use it as an expressive tool. My tiny human loves it too, and can play endlessly with captivated imagination.
