Candy Fishing Game
Dive beneath the waves for a game that’s full of movement, discovery, and skill-building fun. The Magnetic Fishing Game combines pretend play with real developmental value, making it a favourite with therapists, teachers, and parents alike.
Children use magnetic rods to “fish” colourful patterned sea creatures from their ocean puzzle base, matching colours, letters, and numbers while building coordination, concentration, and problem-solving skills. It’s an open-ended activity that grows with your child, from early colour recognition and sorting, to letter and number play, to imaginative group games with friends or siblings.
Compact enough to take anywhere, this little ocean adventure keeps children engaged at home, on road trips, or while waiting at restaurants. It’s fun, educational, and beautifully designed for curious hands and developing minds.
What’s included:
- 2 magnetic fishing rods
- 1 nine-piece ocean puzzle base
- 3 colour dice
- 40 patterned magnetic fish (each with letters and numbers)
- 1 sand timer
Recommendation on how to play from our OT:
-
Colour Match Challenge: Roll the three dice and catch the fish that match the colour combination. Builds visual discrimination, figure-ground perception, and fine motor control.
-
Solo Fishing Fun: Compete against the sand timer to see how many fish you can catch. Strengthens hand–eye coordination and bilateral integration.
-
Sorting the Sea: Sort the fish by colour, pattern, or letter/number to practice categorisation, attention to detail, and early literacy/numeracy.
-
Word Builder / Number Hunt: Use the lettered fish to spell simple words or the numbered fish for quick maths games. Encourages language and numerical reasoning.
-
Memory Match: Only take a few fish, memory the colours. Close it up and remove one. See if you can remember which one was removed. Develops visual memory and focus.
