4 in a line
Gather the family and challenge your critical thinking with 4 in a Line, a timeless game that’s as fun as it is strategic. Whether you're playing indoors or out, this oversized board invites players to build connections, literally, by trying to line up four pieces in a row. Each move matters; players must anticipate their opponent’s next step, block strategies, and stay several moves ahead to win. It’s a simple setup that brings hours of engaging play while sharpening logic, pattern recognition, and tactical reasoning. Perfect for family game nights, classrooms, or playtime with friends.

What Our OT Says
I love using 4 in a Line because it’s one of those games that never gets old kids, parents, and even grandparents all enjoy it. From an OT, it’s more than just lining up four discs. Every move requires planning, predicting what the other player might do, and adjusting your own strategy. Those problem-solving and reasoning skills are exactly the kind of executive functions children need for learning and everyday life.
It’s also fantastic for visual tracking and spatial awareness, children need to scan the board, notice patterns, and keep track of rows forming diagonally, vertically, or horizontally. On top of that, the simple act of taking turns builds patience and social skills, while handling the discs strengthens fine motor control.
What I love most is that kids don’t even realise they’re practicing all these skills. They’re laughing, competing, and fully engaged , which is exactly what makes play such a powerful therapy tool.
