- Fine Motor Skills: Nesting blocks require a variety of fine motor skills—grasping, flexing, rotating, manipulating, and coordinating hand movements.
- Orientation and Spacial Awareness: Nesting involves positioning each block or object in a specific way to fit inside another. While stacking does not always requires orientation, these blocks fit into each other like a puzzle. Twisting and turning the pieces to fit. this refines Spacial awareness and orientation.
- Discrimination: Children learn to differentiate between size and shape.
- Spatial Relations: After discrimination, kids relate one object to another, deciding if it’s the next in sequential size. Trial and error will accompany this process.
- Ideation and motor planning: Watch as children create plans for using all the items together.
