Although this set is often used as a balance activity, I love adding the mini figurines to a small world play box, it’s incredible value because it extends play in so many directions. Small world play is more than imagination; it’s how children make sense of the world around them.
When children use these wooden men as characters, they step into different roles, practice empathy, and learn to see situations from someone else’s perspective. They often act out conflicts between the figures, which gives them a safe space to experiment with problem-solving and emotional regulation.
Storytelling naturally flows into this type of play. Kids create backstories, invent dialogue, and build little adventures, all of which strengthens language, narrative skills, and communication. Sometimes they even project their own feelings onto the figures, which is a gentle way of exploring identity, self-reflection, and coping strategies.
And when children play together, the social benefits multiply. They negotiate roles, take turns, and collaborate on building stories or balancing towers. That combination of creativity, empathy, and teamwork is why I see these figurines as so much more than just a balance toy, they’re a tool for emotional growth, resilience, and connection.

We are using this in therapy and I think the size and challenge is perfect for many of the kids we work with. One suggestion would be to add an extra one of each colour to make it more challenging - so if they get to the last one, it’s a bigger challenge to choose the correct colour when copying a pattern. Also in case any get lost. But overall, good quality and a lovely game

These stick-on toys are so versatile and easy to carry with you. I was surprised and delighted to find so many uses for them. Started using them at 6 month and they are still in play a year later.

I’ve found it to be quite a challenge for many children, which makes it a great tool for developing spatial awareness and understanding positional concepts. With toddlers, I start by giving simple instructions, like “put the farmer in front of the barn” or “place the chicken behind the farmer.” With older children, the graded copy cards add an extra layer of difficulty as they copy the scenes independently.
It’s a versatile game that targets language, comprehension, visual-spatial skills, and fine motor control all at once. Plus, the durability of the wooden pieces means it will last through many therapy sessions. A definite favourite in my practice!
We love using the wooden threading board in therapy! For little ones, it’s great for building fine motor strength as they push the pegs into the board. For older kids, the copy cards turn it into a fun challenge for concentration, planning, and visual skills.
It’s also fantastic for colour sorting, making patterns, and threading, each peg has a tiny hole at the top, so children need to hold it steady while threading, which builds both hand strength and coordination.

My 18 month old, and my 3 year old both love playing with these piggy banks. They frequently ask for them. Sometimes we just feed the piggies the coins, but my older boy sorts the coins into the correct coloured pigs. He has also raced against a sand timer to fill them, and uses them in imaginative play. The boys can play with them at the same time, or alone (with supervision 😉). Such a versatile game. Well worth ordering!
