Giraffe Water Spray Bottle

Regular price R 149.00 ZAR

Watering the garden becomes a small safari adventure with this giraffe-shaped spray bottle. Shaped like a tall, gentle giraffe with a soft curved neck and a little collar around its throat, the bottle holds water in its long body and releases a fine mist with a simple squeeze of the trigger tucked behind its head. It's a playful twist on a tool most children have already seen their parents use,  only now, it's sized and shaped just for them.

Filling it up, aiming it at a thirsty pot plant, and squeezing the trigger again and again turns a simple outdoor chore into satisfying, repeatable play. The giraffe's long neck makes it easy to grip with two hands, encouraging children to steady the bottle while working the trigger, a lovely bit of real-world practice that feels nothing like practice at all.

We love toys that blend pretend play with genuine, practical skill-building, and this giraffe spray bottle does exactly that. It's a wonderful addition to garden play, bath time, or hot summer afternoons outdoors, screen-free fun with a purpose.

What the OT Says:

I recommend spray bottles often in therapy, and this giraffe version is a lovely example of why. Squeezing a trigger repeatedly builds hand strength in the exact muscles children need for a mature pencil grasp, and because the resistance is real (not exaggerated or too easy), it offers genuinely useful strengthening work disguised as play.

Coordinating one hand to squeeze the trigger while the other hand steadies the giraffe's neck also introduces bilateral coordination, where the two hands take on different jobs at the same time. This is a skill children rely on constantly at school, from holding paper still while cutting to steadying a page while writing.

Aiming the spray at a specific target, a plant, a leaf, a chalk drawing on the pavement adds a hand-eye coordination and motor planning challenge, since the child has to judge distance and angle before squeezing. And because water play is inherently calming and repetitive for many children, this toy also offers a gentle sensory regulation activity, ideal for children who benefit from rhythmic, predictable outdoor movement.
