What does our OT says:

The Geoboard is one of those timeless tools I keep coming back to in therapy sessions, simply because it works on so many areas at once. When children stretch and hook elastic bands onto the pegs, they’re giving their little hand muscles a real workout. That kind of fine motor practice strengthens fingers for tasks like writing, cutting, and fastening buttons.

It’s also fantastic for visual-motor integration, the skill of looking at something and copying it with accuracy. Whether they’re following one of the picture cards or inventing their own design, kids are learning how to match what they see with what their hands do. That’s a direct bridge to skills like drawing and handwriting.

I also love how much math sneaks into this activity without children even noticing. They start to explore shapes, symmetry, angles, and even basic ideas like perimeter or area just by playing. And because the geoboard is open-ended, kids can be wildly creative one moment and precise problem-solvers the next.

The threading bear included in this set adds a wonderful bonus. It’s small, portable, and just right for quiet play or travel. Threading the laces through the bear keeps little fingers busy, sharpens coordination, and gives children another playful way to practice the same fine motor skills.
