What our OT says:
These are a great addition for your sensory play tray. These Small wooden bowls are excellent tools for pouring and scooping activities in sensory play. When toddlers pour materials (such as rice, sand, or water) from one bowl to another, they refine their fine motor skills by using their fingers, wrists, and hands to control the flow. These actions strengthen hand muscles, improve hand-eye coordination, and enhance dexterity, laying a foundation for more complex tasks like writing and buttoning clothes
Care instructions:
Proper care and maintenance are essential to keep wooden toys clean, safe, and in excellent condition.
- Washing: Clean wooden toys with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid washing or soaking them in water, as excessive moisture can damage the wood. After cleaning, air-dry the toys. Be cautious not to leave them in direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can cause fading or warping.
- Cleaning Solutions: Use gentle soap and rinse well with a sponge or damp cloth. Alternatively, you can create a natural cleaning solution by diluting white vinegar or apple cider vinegar with water. This mixture effectively cleans and disinfects wooden toys. For stubborn dirt, consider making a baking soda and water paste.
- Moisture Replenishment: Like any other wooden item, wooden toys can dry out over time. To maintain their moisture balance, occasionally apply a natural oil like olive oil or beeswax. Rub it onto the toy’s surface with a soft cloth.
