Gogga Box

The best classroom is outside. And the best science lesson starts with a child crouching down, peering at something tiny, and asking - what is that?

The Gogga Box gives children the tools to look more closely at the natural world around them. A sturdy wooden box with a clear viewing lid, a pair of tweezers, and 8 plastic bugs to get the adventure started. Small enough to carry on any outing, simple enough for little hands to use independently.

Every walk becomes a field trip. Every garden becomes a laboratory.

What's included:

  • 1 wooden gogga box with clear viewing lid (10 x 12 cm),
  •  1 pair of tweezers,
  •  8 plastic bugs.

What our OT says:

Outdoor play and nature exploration are deeply valuable for child development and not just for the obvious reasons. When a child uses tweezers to pick up and examine a small object, they are practising the precise pincer grip that underpins writing. When they observe an insect closely and describe what they see, they are building language, attention, and scientific thinking simultaneously.

The gogga box also supports something that is harder to measure but just as important: a child's capacity for slow, focused curiosity. In a world that moves quickly and loudly, giving a child a box and permission to look closely at something small is a genuinely regulating, grounding experience. It is exactly the kind of intentional, unhurried play that Tiny Tree Toys is built around.

How to play:

Head outside,  into the garden, a park, or along any path and use the tweezers to carefully collect insects, leaves, seeds, or small natural treasures. Place them in the box and observe through the clear lid. Talk about what you find: colours, legs, wings, movement. Return living creatures to where you found them when you are done.

Other ways to play:

Use the included plastic bugs for sorting, counting, and imaginative play indoors. Hide the bugs in a sensory tray filled with rice or sand for a find-and-collect activity. Use as a themed companion to the Bugs Sorting Set or the Camouflage Pour and Play Sensory Set. Set up a simple bug matching activity using the plastic insects and picture cards. Use the tweezers independently as a fine motor tool with any small objects.

Suitable for: 3 years and older. Adult supervision recommended during outdoor use.
