Tweezers are one of the most reliable tools I use for building the specific hand skills that lead to a mature pencil grip, and this wooden pair is a lovely gentle starting point. Squeezing the two arms together to grasp an object develops the small intrinsic hand muscles that support a refined pincer grip, the same grip pattern a child will later rely on for holding a pencil, doing up buttons, and manipulating small objects with control.
Because these tweezers have a lower resistance than our jumbo or squeeze variants, they're a great introduction for younger or less experienced hands, building confidence and hand strength gradually before progressing to tools that demand more grip force. Using them also asks for real hand-eye coordination, a child has to visually track a small object, position the tweezer tips accurately, and apply just the right amount of pressure to lift it without dropping it.
Paired with any sorting or transferring activity, tweezers add a wonderful attention and focus element too, the slow, precise nature of picking up small objects one at a time naturally slows a child down and encourages sustained concentration, which I find especially valuable for children who tend to rush through tasks.

I absolutely love this puzzle, and have purched multiple ones as gifts. It is well crafted, and the wood is neatly rounded off. I'll be honest I've never played the game guidlines included, and rather use it as a catalyst in my creative processes. I love the fact that there are no rules to this, and the opportunity to use it as an expressive tool. My tiny human loves it too, and can play endlessly with captivated imagination.
